1000 Men

by Cherise   Jan 26, 2007

1000 men will march
1000 men will fall
and never again rise
to the flag they once stood tall.

1000 men will die
1000 men will weep
and never smile again
and kiss their mother's cheek.

1000 men will be buried
1000 men will be lost
and never know that freedom,
would come with such a cost.

oh 1000 men will sleep
in there "made from scratch" wooden coffin
and never again be changed
for the uniform they where shot in.

Once again! Another amazing poem! I love the structure and the flow. Just one little mistake I saw:

"would come with such a *coast* (cost)."

That's in the third stanza. Overall, great job!
