Lost In The Night

I looked again for you tonight
You were not here with me
Just silence and shadows
That's all, that were left to see.

Trying to figure out what went wrong
Played it over and over in my mind
Something I said or something I did?
The answer, I can't seem to find.

Your friendship meant the world to me
You made me laugh instead of cry
Hours flew by when I talked to you
Hoping things you said were not lies.

My life has held so much sadness
You brought me to a happy place
Feeling excitement with each new day
Knowing I would see your face.

Tonight when I lay down to sleep
I'll pray to the Lord above
That you know how much I cared
And you'll somehow feel my love.
