Even The Furniture Bleeds

by N J Thornton   Jan 26, 2007

Feeding upon mushroom kisses
and magic's a thirst - inept.
Even the furniture bleeds
if left alone with it's thoughts.

Yet, when a head of grey curls,
rests with the dust of the chair,
both feel fresh as a plastic toy
and as real as the morn' is near.
Even if the empty house
still has a trampled carpet.
-
We feed upon a mushroom caress
and magic, a thirst - shunned
with a window stood between
yourself, myself, and grapes.

But, even our furniture bleeds
without a needle and thread.

Very interesting! But in a good way of course! I've never read anything like this before! It was just pure originality, I love that about your poems! Lots of poems seem to look the same after a while..but yours definitely broke that trend! THANK YOU! 5/5

I very much enjoy the odd sense of words. I mean odd as in, not seen so often, but a joy to come upon on occasion. I think you've got great talent, and could make something out of this. People wouldn't get bored of reading it. :)
