Nothing Left

by Sarah   Jan 26, 2007

To you it is merely a marker
that bears a persons name
It actually carries a story
of how the world cant be the same

The lives touched by that one stone
would take too long to explain
how life has changed so drastically
like not having the same sleeps again

How one chair at the family table
is now only inhabited by air
How ones faith in God lost
Cant exist if he's that unfair

A pair of ski boots lie unused
No feet to place inside
but a used box of tissues lie close
for the days and nights ive cried

Some sweaters hang in a closet
collecting dust as they remain unworn
a babies first cry unheard
for now it will never get to be born

Pictures hold warm fingerprints
From the hours Ive stared at your face
The most used thing I have left of you
So they will stay in a very safe place

I can never fully love again
It will never be the same
My love went when he died
so only a little bit remains
