Christmas is the time of year where people gather ‘round and cheer. Families come from all around, listening to joyful sounds. A small group of children are playing in the snow, while some of the adults are making a show. They put together decorations and lights, and they memorize their lines without any fights. First there is the Angel, who tells the shepherds not to fear. Then there are the kings, who bring gifts for the year. Mary and Joseph gather around their child and stare about and when the others are there, there isn’t a sound. Not even the baby makes any noise, not the girls and not the boys. Soon they leave and say their goodbyes and will see Jesus another time. For he will rule and his people will dwell in a land that is too graceful to tell. And even through all the things he had done, he was mistaken and had to be gone. Then after three days he came back again, and he astonished the women, the children, the men. Not anyone had believed what they had just seen, but they bowed down to Jesus and made their souls clean. God has many wonders, great and small, but nobody knows the answer to any at all. The Bible tells us many things, like a manual to your world. The world that spins. The world that twirls. And if you sit tight and just believe then maybe you will receive. You can receive so many things: love, a home, and hopefully peace. But you have to work hard and strive for the best, and if you do you can make life your nest. Life is a gift and you are one, too. So love one another as God has loved you. |
