My Brick Wall

by Ike Dizzle   Jan 28, 2007

My Brick Wall

Building my brick wall
To keep you out and me in
But it can only take so much
Its caving in

Get through one thing
And other problems replace it
Getting blamed for what I didn't do
By people who cant face it.

Making me feel bad
When I try to be right
Its just no pleasing them
Ill never when this fight

So Ill build my brick wall
Yeah, thats what Ill do
Ill build it strong and sturdy
So no one will get through

I like this poem. Short, but to the point and well done. It really packs a lot of ideas into it that I think we can all relate to. I certainly can. Just not wanting to be the wrong one, to be the one who is always hurt. It's just easier to hide away. Awesome job!! :)

    Much Love,

I love the symbolic meaning of walls. We all put them up for one reason or another, but they are a double edged sword, a wall can protect us but it can also smother us. Sometimes the hardest thing is tearing down the internal walls we've constructed. An excellent poem with deep meaning.
