My Wish.

He came by my side and whispered in my ear, "come closer I want you near."

He took my hand into his and said, "follow me this way."
I followed behind him, hand in hand, and had no words to say.

My fingers locked in his and our steps at the same pace,
I became a little flustered and my heart began to race.

As we walked together, everything felt so right,
And gradually the warm day turned into a chilly night.

He laid his jacket around me and said, "I hope this will help."
Then he wrapped his arms around me and my body began to melt.

We sat looking at the starry night sky,
Then he turned over and looked me right in the eye.

He said, "If you could wish upon a star what would your wish be?"
I stared right back into his eyes and replied, "that you would always be with me."
