Soul Blazing

by Jemma   Jan 29, 2007

As the clouds change to showers
And rain plummets through your eyes
To quench an inner thirst
To lavish the fire within

And there's a dagger embedded
Rutted in your heart
Striking your sin
And your soul

The flame grows weary
The bitterness begins
As the vampires claw
Tearing at your skin

A need for blood
To slate damned lust
But to what end
Would they take you?

A shadow, darker than its host
Lighter than your heart
It flits before your feet
A faint companion

The beat of blood
Crave for the rhythm
Filling the soul
With the Devil's footsteps

There's a pool behind your eyes
A kindled passion
Falsely gained
In lies to yourself

And they come in the midnight hour
The thin membrane of a new day
With swords in their hands
And a whip at the waist

How have they forgotten?
As the wind beats on their faces
That you will stand tomorrow
In the wastes of a damned soul

Twisted and bent, deceitful
Lost in the plains of a yesterday
And the fire burns
And the souls burns
