Intimate Suicide. [Italian Sonnet]

by HOLLYWOODxBANGBANG   Jan 30, 2007

Burning angels screamed in despair from the sky
As you squeezed my hand and whispered softly:
"Death's a midnight runner, this is it baby."
And shards of stars fell down in our broken eyes.
While you sang to me your lovers lullabies,
You took me in your arms and gently kissed me
As heaven leaked cinders of burning debris
Down like snow on my intimate suicide.

Our hearts burnt on in a cancer of passion,
As the cities flesh was carved with our names,
And talk of our death rang loud in City Hall,
Worn on people's mouths like the latest fashion.
But this bulls hit is claiming me false fame,
Raising me up while the rest of you fall.

Italian Sonnets have 10-11 syllables per line and is composed of an octave (rhyming abbaabba), and a sestet (rhyming cdecde or cdcdcd) or in some variant form, with no closing couplet.

**Hidden meaning-it's about a relationship, and how rumors start over any high school relationship. Kind of goes along the lines of the quote "Keep taking, you're making me famous." **
