Just a little longer

Oh what I would do
To look upon your face
To run into your arms
and feel your warmth

To hear your voice
and feel your love
surrounding me
and holding me

But if we met today
would i be ready
to strengthen and support you
in all that you endeavor

In my heart of hearts
I know the truth
that I must wait
just a little longer

I know that when I'm ready

God's timing is perfect
and i trust in you completely

My love for you deepens
But my love for god is stronger
His mercy never fails
and his grace is ever present

I've set myself apart
Into his perfect plan
He's given me so many dreams
sometimes I don't understand

So I'm saying now
Before we even meet
that the love we have
Will never ever die

It's grafted into Jesus
it's founded in his love
it began at creation
and it will never stop

When we're old and gray
We'll laugh at this old poem
I'll blush and try to burn it
cause it's really not that good

but the message here rings true
as does my love for you
and I know that I must wait
