A Friend Still Lacking

by Zach-E   Jan 30, 2007

I am followed by one I know,
Who takes away my loneliness,
Lost without him I'll confess,
For I am one with my shadow.

In the darkness he disappears,
So at nights I stand alone,
More susceptible, I am prone,
To give into my fears.

Upon my side he does creep,
Expressionless he tries to stay,
My feelings he does not betray,
So trust in him I always keep.

But I have found it's not enough,
To have him as my only friend,
Life alone is just too tough,
And it's you I need in the end.

So if you would come with me,
My heart would be much obliged,
We'd be each other's company,
Together filling the voids left inside.

I really like the whole style of how you write your poetry. Ive always found it hard to stick to some sort of pattern or rule, but you've pulled it off in this poem flawlessly.
