Forbidden Love

Why is it that some loves are still forbidden ? ,
in a world that love at times seems so rare.
Love should be encouraged and a joy ,
what others think or say we should not care.
Take the love of an older man for a younger woman ,
it's accepted and no one bats an eye lid.
Yet should an older woman love a younger man ,
it's considered not normal and should be hid.
There is still a certain prejudice around mixed race love ,
who we fall in love with is something we can't control.
In a world with so much bad and hate around ,
love in any form should be allowed to unfold.
This world is supposed to be a modern one ,
yet some peoples views of love are still stuck in the olden days.
Love should not be kept secret or fobidden ,
people who see it as a problem should learn to change their ways.
Whatever age ,colour or sex 2 people in love are ,
their love deserves to stand the tests of time.
Cruel words form others shouldn't make us feel that love is wrong ,
for love is only natural and not some horrid crime.
