From the Invisible Leper

by Sam Richards   Jan 30, 2007

Crystal clear always
Insignificantly opaque when summoned
Obviously I am required
Reluctantly for you

Afraid almost to notice me
Evade me, escape me, neglect me
Deprive me of your charming presence
See right through me, like I can see through
The black hole that was your heart for me
Sucking the unaware in

When all the lights in your life plunge and fade you out
Ill emerge from the darkness
Just like you asked
Use me as you will and steal right from me
All you need to make you feel on top of the world

As if by magic the lights dazzle again
Im excluded back to the shadows
Where Ill rot, rot back to what I was
Im an invisible leper again
Until you next need me, my love
