How did these tears get here?
I thought I'd promised to
shut them away

I guess in the silence, my thoughts
went back to you

I'm only human, and I'm not ok
Even though I say I am

How did these tears get here?
I thought I'd promised to
shut them away

But now, uncontrollably, they've found their way to my eyes

In my mind, I know I'll be ok,
but right now, I guess I'll cry,
cry to sleep today

How did these tears get here?
