Bittersweetness

by gabriel   Jan 31, 2007

Why did you
Have to go south?
I want that sweet
Taste in my mouth

A sensation that
I can't describe
It was the only
Reason I cried

Your touch so tender
An angel's hush
A voice, a whisper
A schoolboy's crush

Fingertips gentle
Upon my skin
A curious touch
Growing deep within

All these I long
To embrace
When will I
See your face?

So to your tune
Slowly entranced
Make-believe
Together we dance

Clasp your hands
Holding your hips
And then I taste
Those precious lips

Yet I can't
Do all these
Not even to
Have that kiss

You left me hanging
Like a frame
A broken picture
No longer the same

Your touch is lost
To this very day
Like a feather
Quietly lifted away

I still make-believe
By hiding my fear
Even though I know
You're never here

Still tears just fill
Into my eyes
When I remember
How I'd fantasize

That taste
That touch
How I miss
You so much

All I taste bitter,
Sweetness in my mouth
Still wonder why
Did you go south
