Feelings Of Friendship

by ~Not~Quite~There~   Feb 1, 2007

Feelings get you down and twist up your insides
Like a grinder compressing the pain no loss no gain
Just mixed up feelings and unknown meanings of what he said to you
If left to long those feelings cascade
Into a pool of never knowing
Gushing through the valley of what if?
And stopping at the door of temptation
To let him understand why you long to hold his hand
To be wrapped up in his arms and gaze into the starry sky
But the self loathing you have grips your dreams
The doubt set like stone in your mind
You give in to the pain and move on
Forget why you love him so
You pretend to be happy but sadness does not go unnoticed
The tear stained pillows in your bedroom of dreams dry slowly.
Because you know that his friendship is all that you have.

Mascara on your sheets where you cried yourself to sleep
Internal bleeding from times he cut too deep
Your laughter lines have faded and smiles long gone
Only sorrow shows and pain the only feeling
Rolling in the grass seems so long ago.
