Today

by Kurt   Feb 2, 2007

Tomorrow you might leave
Decide to get up and go
Pack your bags and depart
Without even letting me know

You don't understand
Just how much it hurts
To sit around waiting
Watching you flirt

To see your brilliant smile
Reflecting all your joy
All the while calculating
Your crush upon that boy

It leaves me breathless
Drowning me in sorrow
Knowing that deep inside
You could be gone tomorrow

I don't want to lose you
Before we had a chance
Let me take you out tonight
And to music we will dance

But no matter what happens
I just want to say
The only thing that matters
Is that we have today

I love the message to this poem, it's quite amazing. Many people realize it, but just too late.

You did a great job with this poem. The flow and rhythm are quite good, along with the wording; which I liked a lot.
    Wonderful Job, hun.
    Keep it up. 5/5
