Spring

by Bill Turner   Feb 2, 2007

Rays of sun beat back the ice and snow
Revealing a barren landscape of pale earth
Blown and misshapen by winters chill wind
The land cries out for warmth and love
Absorbing the heat pouring down from above

Soon there will be no more frost at my feet
The stone of frozen land will give way to the blade
Turning the soil as winter turns to spring
Like the warmth of new love, seeds will begin to grow
Pushing upwards, reaching for the heavens and waters flow

Where once stood an icy barren land
Nature will reveal her bountiful glory
As a green spring is sprung upon us
Blooms, blossoms and flowers lighting the land
Nature's fireworks show of color and scent, so grand

Thoughts of cold and winter will no longer chill the soul
Waves of color will flow before us as summer comes
The bounty of beauty making up for the dark days of winter
Embrace these moments; hold them in your heart forever
As these days will not last, the seasons just run together

Bill you have created such wonderful images that they warm my soul on such a cold winter night.

I love Spring for its magical beauty. It seems to pick us up right out of those blue mood days and thrust us into the arms of cheer.
I love those first days when the weather begins to warm. Riding in the car with the windows down, smelling the fresh air....Awwww I can hardly wait.

A wonderful read Bill and even though it is -19C tonight, I feel much warmer after reading this poetic gem.

It seems I am about to write a book here ....lol
Great write once again, my friend
    Take care
