Difference between you & my ex

I had that feeling that I knew I weren't going to be with my ex that long..
That we wouldn't really last..
That he wasn't no good for me because of how he treated me..
Where that feeling I haven't got with you!

I could see the end of the dark tunnel when with him..
Like we were getting closer and closer to the end of the tunnel..
Like each week we were letting go of a finger a day..
Until we were left to argue as we completely let go..
But I don't see the end for us yet¦
There isn't that light yet¦

I used to smile when I saw him turn up..
Each day, month and week that smile faded and it wore off¦
Those rose coloured fake glasses came off..
I always smile when I see you..
Each day and week seems to make me smile more and more..

He never talked to me about how he felt..
I swear he was only after one thing..
You tell me if you've missed me..
you'll whisper things in my ear because you love being with me¦
We both know where we stand with each other..

There is still things I haven't been able to tell you yet..
Because I'm protecting myself in case you walk away..
I sometimes want to tell you I love you but I cant just yet..
We both say that things just happen with us..
We don't force or rush things!

The difference is...
Your for real!
he was fake..
I cared for him..
I love you..

Now how do I tell you all this..
