In the days before his light
My life was dark and gray
I couldn't’t find my way you see
My heart was torn and scared
But then he came into my world
And turned it all around
Finally I could breathe and see
Freedom was the sound
I heard it when he said he loved me
I felt when he held me tight
He let me know I could be loved
He taught me I was strong and right
With him I knew I could do anything
And I knew he believed in me

No longer my hero
No longer my scene
But his lessons still hold tight
They live in me

No longer am I scared or wrong
I am not alone or sad
I know he changed my world for me
But now I hold the key
