The Roads of Europe

by Jeremy B   Feb 3, 2007

The love for a precious gold
By the King is now forbidden.
So these feelings I have for it
Must remain within and hidden.

Perhaps someday I will marry
Into the royal family and with this
Marriage I could have the rights
To the gold of that I sincerely wish.

Or taken in secret away from Him,
And with me we will run away.
To the far side of the river Nile
And in a desert land to stay.

By camel traveling long days
Across the sand to Egypt.
Two sapphires and amber
Embedded in gold I'm with.

Beauties shinning in my eye
Like the Gardens of Babylon.
You in my pockets alas
I shall hold tight to you forever.

On the roads of Europe
Shall be our only home.
For I be an outlaw now
To the rulers of Rome.

Not much to say about this one.
Simply that I love it. Mostly the ending.
"For I be an outlaw now
    To the rulers of Rome."
