Cat and Mouse (part 1)

by Imaginarygirl.   Feb 4, 2007

This is to the song cat and mouse by red jumpsuit apparatus. This is also shonen-ai. I wrote it for a friend who is so supportive of my poetry who is also a fantastic writer
*************************
I love you,
I whispered in his ear
And he smiled softly.
I will never leave you he said.
I thought he meant it to.

'Softly we tremble tonight,
picture perfect fading smiles are all that's left in site,
I said I'd never leave you'll never change
I'm not satisfied with where I'm at in life.'

We kiss and promise to be together forever,
Like so many young lovers do.
But this time its different and we know it too.
This time our love is taboo.
Our love is something that I know is true.
We've been through so much together.
We've been friends forever.

It was perfect that night.
We knew what we felt
and we were finally willing to accept that our friendship
was deeper than any friendship.
It was love.

So when I pulled him closer
and our hips were touching,
I thought we would stay like that,
Forever.

\'We made plans to grow old,
believe me there was truth in all those stories that I told.\'
No-one was there and
We didn\'t care what they thought.

Our lips touched and it was bliss,
I loved our first kiss.

We deepened the kiss until we could deepen it no more.
We were so caught up in each other that nothing else existed.
That night was a pivotal night in our lives.

We were confident walking in to school,
Confident in each other love.

Then the rumors began but we didn\'t care.
They were true anyway.
I invited him over and he met my mother,
I introduced him as my boyfriend.
She didn\'t mind.
She did\'t even blink,
Just asked if he wanted to have dinner
And told us not to wear each other out.

I would have died for him
And he for me,
But he wouldn't live for me.

He was surprised after meeting my mother,
That was the first sign I missed.
Yet he seemed strangely confident.
Sleeping over that night,
The second sign I missed.

'Softly we tremble tonight,
picture perfect fading smiles are all that's left in site,
I said I'd never leave you'll never change
I'm not satisfied with where I'm at in life.'

When he asked me over to his house for dinner,
I didn't expect this.
He answered the doorknob
With a fake smile.
It looked real,
But I could tell.
He was a warrior ready for battle
And I was his lover like in the battles of troy
When they sent lovers out together so that if one dies the other fights viciously,
Avenging he's boyfriends death.

He held my hand as he led me into the dinning room.
They had met me before they knew I was his friend
But when he asked if his 'friend' could sit next to him at dinner
He fooled no-one we all knew he meant 'boy-friend',
They could see,
All the unspoken words,
The hand of mine that he still held,
And his mother looked shaken,
Her lips tightened,
Into a shocking grimace.
The shocked look on his younger sister's face,
'Her brother was a naughty boy!'
The confused look on his little brother's face,
He didn't understand,
'This kind of love didn't exist!'

I've never known so much hate,
So many emotions in one single glance.
