Let Go Of My Hand

by gabriel   Feb 4, 2007

Let's us both just not
Play this game of pretend
Say you don't love me
And let go of my hand

One day you will tire
And leave finally
But now all I ask is
Will you love me?

I look into your eyes
But I don't see the need
Will you calm my soul
When my love bleeds?

I hold your hands cold
The warmth slowly dies
So when will you stop
Those heart-breaking lies?

Yet I could never leave
You in a lurch like this
Still you make-believe with
Your ever-tainted kiss

Our shadows walk the earth
Further from the start
It's like we were always
Meant to be apart

We don't see eye to eye
Each and every day
Yet I still do love you
Or that's what my lips say

I look into the mirror
And I see your gaze
You'd never wanted
To really touch my face

Somehow I still cling on
To a pain I cannot bear
You aren't the one for me
Cause you're never there

Unrequited they say
Love was what I hear
But you never loved me
All through the year

So leave me hanging dry
On this broken stand
Then you can finally
Let go of my hand
