Like all the other girls- A poem about anorexia

by AnorexicDream   Feb 4, 2007

Lyla can't finish her food.
Tells her parents she isn't in the mood.
And her sisters says she's lying
And her brother says she's dying.
Lyla starts crying
She is just trying

To be like all the other girls
In the thin world
She wants to be thinner
So her diet gets slimmer
To be like all the other girls
In the thin world.

Lyla is getting thinner.
From the lack of dinner.
Her mother doesn't understand
Her father wants to lend a hand
But she won't let him
Because she wants to be slim

To be like all the other girls
In the thin world
She wants to get thinner
So her diet gets slimmer
To be like all the other girls
In the thin world

It is taking over her
Of that they are sure
Her brother says she needs help
Her sister can do nothing but yelp
Lyla is loosing weight faster and faster
But somehow the thin girls pass her

To be like all the other girls
In the thin world
She wants to get thinner
So her diet gets slimmer
To be like all the other girls
In the thin world

I like this poem a lot. The flow isn't quite perfect, and the rhymes are simple, but it's a good message and I think you got it across pretty greatly =)
