In a darkened night
I noticed as you trembled
oh so very lightly,
as though you were dreaming of
what was yet to come
but at the same time
gazing me with your every emotion,
our eyes seem to fall deeper
into an excitement,
which none could over come,
but then
your breathing started to get deeper
and I asked what was wrong,
you said nothing babe,
just thinking,
and then I thought about it
and asked,
is it because I'm going home,
then a tear drops from your eye
and in a tick a moment

but times like these
