Living a lie

by Erin   Feb 5, 2007

I saw the third seat for me at the dinner table
do you think i want to sit with you
and that strange women sitting apound your every word
shell never know what i knew

dose she know your lieing to her
about the past, you think your clever
thinking she wont have to know
but the past will stay with you forever

Dad your living a lie
you told me and warren a lie
i cant hold it inside
I'm going to cry

Dad why, why did u have to do what you did?
i got punished for so many things you said
i was just a kid
i rather be with mom instead

i cant though because shes dead
you told me you loved her
ya right i was there what you said
you screamed and hit her

I hid under my bed
I grabbed my teddy
his name was Ted
held on to him hoping everything would go away already

I cant look at you dad
what you did and what you said
I don't want you coming to my grad
I wont be there for you new wed

All that matters, is happiness. Tame the Past, and name your Future. Against all odds, victory abounds. Nothing has come to stay, but truth. Forgiveness is solemn vengeance. Things go wrong, to turn good at last. From tears of agony, gems rise.

You've got a lot of talent. It sounds like you've been through a lot, too, but you also seem very strong. Things get better, I've been there too, maybe everyone has. Don't stop writing.
