Not OK

by Kaitlyn   Feb 5, 2007

When I say I'm fine, I'm really not,
Can't you tell by the look in my eye?
Stop playing pretend with me,
Break through MY screwed 'OK' lie!

I'm not OK, and haven't been for a while,
I'm not OK, but telling just isn't my style.

Work to get through to me!
Don't just leave me be!
You don't have a clue;
I'm screaming for you!

Do you wanna know something?
Right here, this now, it's all real,
Wanna scream in fear pain, rage,
Please, please just help me to heal!

I'm not OK, yet you turn away,
I am OK, simply so you'll stay.

I'm scared and alone,
In a deathly quiet room,
Just me and the blood,
And hope you'll come soon.

And now I'm so confused,
Don't want attention but care,
But you look the other way,
As my wrists rip and tear.

Suddenly you're here,
It's more that I can bear,
'Cause you're so upset,
And that just isn't fair.

I am OK, I swear it's no longer an issue,
I am OK, so you won't need another tissue.

But, I'm not OK, that a blind man could see,
I'm not OK, but don't worry 'bout me.
