Perfect Disaster

by Jenni Marie   Feb 5, 2007

There's this girl I know
Who goes out with friends
She smiles and laughs
She's good at playing pretend.

When she's with her family
The smile never leaves her face
It truly looks like she's
Someone who's found their place.

When she's with her boyfriend
She'll confidently say 'I love you'
The smile on her face is so bright
He'll never guess that she is blue.

When she's at school
She seems focused and smart
She's had to many years to
Perfect hiding her broken heart.

For when she's alone
She'll sit there and cry
Tears will pour down her face
And she'll wish that she would die.

She'll make cuts on her arms
And feel she'll never be free
She's a complete mess inside
Why doesn't anyone see?

Completely perfect on the outside
Yet feeling her insides are wrapped in plaster
Waiting for everyone to discover
She's just this perfect disaster.
