Remember When?

Growing up as a child
Everything was new
Amazed by things
Even bubbles we blew

Lying on your back
Looking up at the sky
Making sense of the clouds
As they all flew by

Your imagination runs wild
Playing games with your friends
Time is flying by so fast
You wished it would never end

However, as the years fly by
The rigors of life get in the way
You find yourself saying to others

Our bones are creaky and sore
Eyes are weak and can't see
Can we ever get that feeling back
Being innocent and carefree

It's hard to play in the sandbox
When your knees are in pain
Hopscotch is more difficult
When using a walker or cane

Remember that thinking of the past
Can bring you pain or pleasure
Use you imagination to enjoy
Those moments you treasure
