In the Eye of the Beholder

by Michael D Nalley   Feb 5, 2007

In the eye of the beholder
On the ears of those listening
Through the heart of those older
Where true love is glistening

Beauty is in the sacred soul
Manifested on the smiling faces
Where the years take their toll
To fill our lives with empty spaces

Save what is beautiful discard the rest
Look past dark clouds to heavenly blue skies
Life is wonderful when it is lived with zest
Sorrow may be joy when tears clear our eyes
