A Fairytale Story

Like any other girl growing up
I was waiting for my fairytale to begin
A princess waiting for her Prince
As did Cinderella and Jasmine

He appeared in many of my dreams
My Prince Charming to be
And when the time was right
He'd come by and rescue me

Sharing love and laughter
Making my dreams come true
With my prince by my side
I'd never feel so blue

But that wasn't my story
There was no prince to be
Reality begins to sink in
There was no princess in me

Years had gone by
Content with the routine I had
With great friends and a family
I was pretty darn glad

But he came along
And cast a spell on me
No matter how hard I fought
With him I just wanted to be

He was all that I dreamt of
A perfect handsome man
I couldn't help but fall in love
And that's where my fairytale began

No white horse or shining armor
No glass slipper or magic carpet
I guess it was by chance
But to him my heart did commit

But now there's distance
And I feel him drifting away
What really makes me sad
Is the lack of words to say

The romance was short-lived
But so magical to me
There was a Prince of my dreams
Who became my fantasy.
