God is always there
whether we agree with it or not
that's something I've been taught
since the day I was born
but haven't always believed in
I've had my ups and downs
with my faith
some days I want nothing to do with God
and other days I'm grateful toward Him for the life He has given me
and the people He has put in my life
today I wanna stand on a mountain top
and sing to Heaven where my Father lives
to praise Him for giving me another day to live on Earth
with my friends and my family
He is always there
I know that when it's my time
to go up to Heaven
He will be standing at the gates
with His arms stretched out
waiting to envelope me into a hug
and I will hug Him back
with tears in my eyes
while I thank Him for sending His son to die for my sins
He is always there
