Trapped Within a Kiss

by Peter Williams   Feb 6, 2007

You're just a car ride away,
And I just don't know what to say.
I stare out my window to see the sun go down into the sea.
Your name flashed in my mind like a sign on a marquee.
Thinking about you is my favorite pastime,
I guess that means I don't have much to do.
All those songs I hear remind me of you.
I'll kiss you in the foyer on a lovely afternoon,
Just only show me the way out of this gentle monsoon.
I'll play you a song,
And I hope that I don't get it wrong.
I know I am just a fool,
My hot heart begins to cool,
As I melt within your lips.
Staring off into space,
I hope to find you somewhere in that place.
That place beyond the stars,
Not the nears and not the far's,
But a place I like to be someday,
Where the branches of trees always sway,
Where darkness is always light,
And where pigs often take flight.
A place among the shadows of Gods,
Where our hearts will last forever by all odds.
Such a place will one day exist,
'Til then it will be trapped within a kiss.
