Skylight View

by Tom Cheriyan   Feb 6, 2007

My skylight gives me a life view,
As I stare into the open expanse of the sky blue,
I can see birds fly,
From one corner to the other, then out of sight,
Like acquaintances, relationships, in the past,
Now in view, then disappear,
A plane in the distance, trawls along,
Leaving an orange cloudy trail.
Reminds me of challenges faced,
Mistakes made,
Present now, then gone,
Leaving a blaze of experiences,
Lessons learned, some unlearned, some just hazy memories,
Then I notice tiny spots on the pane,
Obstructing view,
Like tiny scars on my minds tissue,
Hurt and pain, blocking light,
Precious energy, essential for growth.
Little scars, preventing me,
Preventing me from enjoying,
Life's fleeting relationships to the full,
In the skylight view of my life.
