My cousin Wendy was always on the bright side,
Another person like her you will never find,
Smile to light up a room,
When she left it was way too soon,
Around the time she became a wife,
The pain of cancer entered her life.
Soon after she had a surprise,
If she made it through sheâ??d have a prize,
A smiling baby boy,
To bring back her joy,
Losing her first son this would be a challenge,
But some how her faith helped her manage.
Her amazing Marine husband Matt was always there,
Especially when she began losing her hair,
Out came the razor, he shaved his own,
Just so Wendy wouldnâ??t feel so alone,
Finally along came her beautiful son,
By now, the chemo was done.
Around the time Joe turned two,
She got more bad news,
Fate had its way and the cancer came back,
She began chemo again to get her back on track,
In her back and in her bones,
Still her three year old kept her on her toes.
Joe was four and had a bright smile,
Wendy was alright for a little while,
Amazing things this women did,
Helping people through cancer and SIDS,
She kept strong when things got bad,
She showed the biggest smile she had.
God was ready for her to come,
Her duties here by now were done,
A plaque hangs in her honor,
She is my hero and I loved her,
My cousin Wendy was always on the bright side,
Another person like her you will never find.
