He told me I was lonely
So I let him take me home
We talked about Penny Lane
And how hypothetical people are all the same.

Maybe I shouldve looked away
And then I wouldnt be who I am today
I couldve told him I didnt want to
But that wouldnt be the truth.

I told him to bring it on
While we listened to his favorite song
He asked and I said no
Then he gave me his coat; I was cold.

We couldve stayed that way
And been in the same place today
But then college called
While our friendship stalled.
