The Thorns

While you were out trying to get every girl,
You never had to look far to see you were my world.
While you were out there, trying for their attention,
I was sitting here, with so much love and affection.

While you treated other girls as if they were best,
I still loved you, and I was still obsessed.
While you ignored me around your friends,
I still would stare at you again and again.

While other girls were treated like gold,
I was a thorn that you just could not hold.
While they were the reasons you smiled each day,
You were the reason my skies weren’t gray.

Now that you have gone the clouds are back,
My nights are lonely, the hours cold and black.
I was just another girl to pass through your arms,
But to me you were much more then a boy with charms.

You were everything.
