A father's love

by LittleMissLili   Feb 8, 2007

He isn't a doctor, but he's saved my life.
He isn't an astronaut, but he's taken me to the moon.
He isn't a fire-fighter, but he has put many a fire out.
He isn't a scholar, but he's the smartest man alive.
He isn't famous, but he'll always be my hero.
He isn't perfect, but he has worked for what he has.

He's a soldier of forgotten wars, he fought for my freedom.
He's a mechanic, he works with his hands..he isn't afraid of hard work.
He's an authority figure that co-workers look up to, he has knowledge.
He's a fixture in smalltown USA, people respect him.

He has many jobs, many titles, and a life full of experience...
but the most important job?
He's a hero to a little girl, who is now entering the first day of the rest of her life. A little girl who isn't so little anymore. A little girl who's realized, life isn't always beautiful. A little girl who has sadly learned not to trust the world. A little girl who feels so far from home, she's lost and she's afraid. but as soon as she sees her daddy...She flies back 18 years to when she was truly a little girl, life is once again beautiful, she can trust strangers, and she is finally home, found, and brave.

All because of my daddy's love.
