Losing grip

by somehow broken   Feb 9, 2007

She stands there weak
So empty inside
Her sobs have turned to shrieks
Breathing keeps on stalling

Terrified to remember
All the sins she created
So ready to surrender
She's losing grip

Her hand held high
You don't respond
She's left to lie
Curled up in a corner

She's sick of this mess
Left alone in this battle
She grabs a knife and begins to press
Numbness beginning to leak away

Unable to forget
Drowning in sorrow
Her scars of regret
Create fatal art

She doesn't care anymore
Locked away her courage
Happiness now behind an unreachable door
Shaking uncontrollably

If only she could
Fast forward time
To see where she stood
And know it's all worth it
