Long Gone

He was all I ever wanted,
but could never have.
He made me want to cry and smile,
whilst traveling down my rugged path.

Everytime I hear his name,
my heart shatters.
No one tries to fix it,
not like it matters.

That one boy is the reason.
So long I had held on,
tried to win over his heart,
but that hope is long gone.

The time has run out.
I have slipped away.
I promise to never come back,
no matter what he may do or say.

My loving heart is gone.
It has gone distant and weak.
He will no longer be my target.
