To my birth mom

by Kayde   Feb 9, 2007

I hate to say I told me so but I did and you're a foe So many lies flow from behind that smile You're a drug user stuck in denial

I gave you a chance for you to be apart of my life but sadly jokes on me your promises are broken, your lies are told now you have nobody left to hold don't think ill be here when you come around instead ill be no where to be found

I don't understand how drugs can be so much better that your baby The one who grew inside of you for 9 months straight until you were due The one who kicked and had a heartbeat with all 10 fingers and both little feet

Now that i'm grown I can finally see which mother is the best for me She's always been here since day one she's never left my side
Even when it was no fun she's taught me everything she has known and guided me as I have grown

She loves me more than you ever could She took me in when you never would She loves me just like a mother should She does everything you don't.

The End

this poem is dedicated to my birth mom, who has a drug problem its the reason why she gave me up for adoption and is still struggling with it now. thanks
