While you're gone away |
by Chris Ford
I am a soldier of the US Army and when I read your poem it put a smile on my face. And given the circumstance thats hard to do. I have three kids of my own and I left them to fight for our freedom and little things like this make it worth it. Thank you for your support and feel free to write me at pvtford15@yahoo.com |

Nothing about our soldiers is cliche! This poem was written for a man that I do not know...I got an email from a co-worker in a nother city that I've never met...it was about him. After the birth of his second baby and missing the first 18 months of his first childs life he finds out he'll miss the first 18 months of his second childs life. His wife decided to make him a book so he knows people are thinking of. I wrote this poem to be placed in his book. A superb thought...at least to me! Sorry you feel it's "CLICHE" - that comment was cliche....The only thing it conjured up in your mind was how you could have done better...and how you have no feelings toward the men and woman who are fighting for YOU! |
