A Riddle of Sorrow

by Manda   Feb 10, 2007

I am sobbing, I am sadness
I am wet as rain
People try to bite me back
But it is all in vein

I am quite similar to fears
Though I do console them
I can right many wrongs
I can bring forth mayhem

I am weeping, I am crying
I can be full of pain
Sorrow is my place of birth
Though it’s healing I obtain

I caress those in suffering
Cascades of bitter-sweet comfort
I may seem like a weakness
But I promise you’ll remain unhurt

I am mourning, I am sniffling
I might be full of shame
Happiness can be my cause
But I’m from mostly disdain

I can be your salvation
Or maybe something you cannot bare
And though my presence is hard to decipher
I am held within a stare

What am I?
