God's Will

I stand by your side,
i have for years,
i have seen you laugh,
i have even dried your tears.

i miss you more and more,
now that your far away,
i talk to you every day,
but i have no idea what to say.

i tell you that i'm proud,
i tell you that i'm well,
i tell you that you mean the world,
i keep a small secret in my own little hell.

i want to say here i am,
i want to say please be mine,
i want to say i love you,
but i don't, i just give it time.

time has passed for ten years now,
secretly i have been true,
i watched as the others crushed you,
just timing my debut.

but in life, there is no stage,
i just sit here ever so still,
pretending one day you'll understand,
hoping that just maybe, it's God's will.
