I Am From Mr. Dress Up And Care Bears

by kaitlynmaggie   Feb 11, 2007

I had to write this for school.
This isn't slang, it just woudn't be be accepted otherwise.

I am from tea and pantry cookies,
over at Nannies and Grampies.
I am from K'nex and Fiddle Faddle,
dirty hands and scratched up knees.

I am from playing street hockey with Kyle,
my tall white house past the train tracks.
I am from the R and F down the road,
and having too many dogs and cats.

I am from my mom and dad yelling,
and picking which one of them is right.
I am from moving from house to house,
and crying myself to sleep every night.

I am from Mr. Dressup and Care Bears,
playing Barbies and watching Wishbone.
I am from getting left out way too often,
and always wanting to just go back home.

I am from the Muppet Babies and Rugrats,
Mother May I and Red Light Green Light.
I am from summer fireworks and bon fires,
playing with tamagotchi's and my Light Brite.

I am from playing tag and hopscotch,
reading Mercer Mayer and Dr. Seuss.
I am from my cats Casper and Shade,
and playing with my dog named Zeus.

I am from sharing a room with Sarah,
and barely ever getting the front seat.
I am from getting picked on by Kyle,
feeling like I always had to compete.

I am from apartments buildings with dad,
missing mom more than I could believe.
I am from the terrible loss of a grandmother,
which has left many years ahead to grieve.

I am from my wonderful, beautiful mom,
and my very strong, race car driving dad.
I am from playing with Kyle and Sarah,
I am from the best years I've ever had.
