Angel

I saw my angel deny
Me through my very eyes
Tears I couldn't cry
She didn't say goodbye

I pondered through and through
On that very dawn
Somehow I never knew
Why she'd left me torn

I said a quiet whisper
Into a quiet prayer
Hoping very fondly
Somehow she'd be there

My guardian angel didn't
Appear to me at all
She'd simply vanished
That very faithful fall

I sit here watching the stars
The angel without a name
A large teardrop rolls down
For the love that never came
