Loveless Poetry

I sat down and sigh
Holding back tears to cry
Wonder what went wrong
As if we did our swan song

I felt a painful feeling
Deep down inside my heart
I\'m still reeling
From having it torn apart

It was like a fairytale
With a cruel twist
As the sands flow
You slowly let my hands go

I was like stranded
Marooned on a broken land
Somehow I would never
Be able to comprehend

I tried to sleep soon after
My bed like hardened stone
My heart just felt so heavy
Like steel cut through the bone

I tried to cry to sleep
But no tears could be found
Even beyond the windows
Silence shared it\'s sound

I finally realized what
This really meant to me
I had completed my piece
Of a loveless poetry
