A "special" holdiday

A "special" holiday
that comes once a year.
A day i wish
would just dissapear.

A celebration,
so un-unique.
Someone to celebrate with,
Ii don't usually bespeak.

Never had a need
for someone with whom to share this day.
But, maybe, this year I'll choose someone,
and to them I will convey.

I don't need anything expensive.
No chocolate or flowers.
Just time spent together
to waste away the hours.

I'll ask someone I know
truely cares about me.
Would I want anyone other than you?
If your answer is "yes", I highly disagree.

I'm asking you, whatever the answer.
Don't worry if I get hurt.
Until you answer me,
my body is inert.

So, will you, on this day,
consider yourself mine?
Will you be my friend, my love,
my Valentine?
