Forbidden Dance (Ottava Rima)

She looks deeply into his dark blue spheres
As he asks politely for her to stand
Best friends forever, throughout all the years
He reaches out, and then kisses her hand
She laughs, thinking it is a joke to hear
He begins to blush as he asks her to dance
Together they waltz, as they mirror their steps
The forbidden dance takes place before night ends

~*An Ottava Rima is a poem written in 8-line octaves. Each line is of a 10 or 11 syllable count in
the following rhyme:
