Shooting Star in a Pit of Darkness

by kia   Feb 12, 2007

I never meant to hurt you
I didnt want you to cry
i would never have loved you
If i knew it would do this
Now you want me to fade away
Like its something i could do with ease

You dont seem to realize that without you
Ill die like a shooting star
Fall from my brightest moment
In to a pit of darkness

Ill do as you ask
Anything to keep you safe
Just as i pretend it doesnt hurt
when in reality my eyes will never live to see another dry day
Nor will my heart stick to the glue you repaired it with

As my life crumbles dramatically to the floor
And i slowly lose my petals
As i watch my sunshine fade away
I will smile knowing you once were mine

As i lay in a crimson pool of disappointment
will see your face in my mind
And remember your kiss upon my lips
As they slowly turn blue

Ill remember your warmth
As i slowly turn cold.

    Hey hun...

I really like this poem, it is much shorter than your usual work, but still as much information and feeling as any other piece you do. I really cant get my head around your poetic ability, it facinates and astounds me.

**when in reality my eyes will never live to see another dry day
Nor will my heart stick to the glue you repaired it with**

    Loved this part.

    Luv ya hun, Mwah!

This is a good poem. The part,
"And remember your kiss upon my lips
    As they slowly turn blue."
    is very well written.
    keep it up
    peace
